As the story goes, the Vikings loved their pancakes. When they were on adventures they wanted them too. It is said that they would take their sheilds that had been dented in battle and use them to cook their beloved pancakes in a round form. Hence they invented the pancake ball. In their travels they took them to many other counrtries like Japan. Of course the Japanese played with them and now make that is called Takoyaki, which has small pieces of octopus and green onions in the mix. Manay other countries have their own verson, but as I understand it, the original came from the Vikings of denmark.

You gotta try our wonderful Viking Pancakes. Tender batter cooked in a special pan and dusted with powdered sugar, or coated with jam or syrup. Sometimes filled with sweet fillings like cream cheese, chocolate and other treets.
